By the end of the course you will have learnt:

  • Prioritising injuries and action in an emergency.
  • How to provide immediate medical care in an emergency.
  • How to assess if an adult, baby or child is unconscious, whether or not they are breathing and how and when to put them into the recovery position or start CPR.
  • We will cover common accidents and injuries relevant to babies and children of different ages and empower you with the skills and confidence to provide an immediate and appropriate first aid response.

  • Treatment of an unconscious adult, baby or child who is not breathing – CPR

  • Bleeding – grazes, splinters, embedded objects, amputated parts, knocked out teeth, mouth injury, eye injury, bruising, nose bleeds, objects in eyes, ears, nose…

We will cover the full Ofsted and EYFS syllabus

 

One day – 6 hour practical course, with 6 hours of online pre-learning (to be undertaken prior to the practical course) for the Full Blended 12 hour Paediatric First Aid qualification.

Continuous assessment by trainer, practical assessments to cover wound management, care of an unconscious casualty, choking and CPR

Paediatric or Full Paediatric First Aid qualification valid for 3 years.

Practical training runs from 9:30 – 16:30

First Aid for Life specialise in paediatric first aid training.

It is a legal requirement for at least one person with a valid full 12-hour paediatric first aid certificate to be available at all times within all professional childcare establishments. This includes cover for sickness and annual leave and to accompany children on trips or excursions. Millie’s Mark requires all staff to be trained in paediatric first aid. First Aid for Life offer the 12-hour Full Paediatric First Aid course as convenient blended learning, with 6 hours online interactive pre-learning (particularly useful for those with English as a foreign language) followed by a 6 hour practical course.

We also offer 2-day practical courses for groups.

Choose the one day (6 hour) practical course to register as a nanny or child carer on the voluntary childcare register.

Our paediatric courses are recognised by Ofsted for the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and fulfil Childcare Registration requirements and the DfES Approved Carers Scheme. This course can be used as evidence for employees working towards the NVQ in Childcare and Education.

You will recieve an HSE appointed person Emergency First Aid certificate valid for 3 years with verifiable CPD.
